Minutes of Core Group Meeting
1st July 2010
Present: Martin Calvert (Chair), Mike Betteridge, Adrian Coltman, Adam & Carol Bull.
1. Apologies for Absence

2. Minutes of the Meeting Held 21st May 2010
Agreed as a true record.
3. Matters Arising
None.
4. Correspondence
Correspondence received from Leeds Council promoting the Year of the Volunteer. An event will be held based on the theme of the Environment at Temple Newsam on 1 August between 11am and 4pm. BCTV, River Aire, Parks and Countryside, Forestry and various Friends of Groups have been invited to attend. Attendees to the Core Group meeting were unable to go but Martin thought Joan and Mervyn Clayton may be interested in going on behalf of the Group.

5. Action Mornings
Future Action Mornings
- Saturday 3 July
Activities to include planting wild flowers, fixing of the handrail and litter picking. Paul may do some drainage work. Please meet in the meadow at the end of the lake on Gledhow Valley Road.
- Sunday 5 September
September Action Morning will be to clean the Bath House ready for the Heritage Open Day the following week. Please meet at the Bath House on Gledhow Valley Road.

- Sunday 14 November
- Sunday 12 December
6. FunDay 2010
The 2010 FunDay will be discussed at a special Core Group Meeting on Thursday 8 July 2010.
7. AOB
- Community Forestry Research Student
A post-grad student has approached the Group and asked them to fill in a questionnaire regarding the woods. The work is to compare forests with community forests. The Group agreed that Martin could complete the questionnaire on the Group's behalf.
- FGVW Christmas Card Photo Competition Winners
Adam showed the Group the winning photos, as voted for by people attending the FunDay. The photos will be posted on the web site in due course, and the winners notified.
